Siena, a Tuscan treasure
Located in the heart of Tuscany and surrounded by hills, Siena is one of the most beautiful and fascinating Medieval city in Italy.
The city's heart is the famous Piazza del Campo is shell shaped and takes its name from the original purpose: at the beginning if fact, it was a green space, intended to host markets and fairs. It's divided in 9 sectors, in memory of the Nove Signori (nine lords) who ruled the city between 1287 and 1355 and is paved with red bricks.
This Piazza, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, is the city's lounge and the open-air arena where twice a year, the Palio takes place. On July 2nd and August 16th, the paved stone is covered with sand and the horses from different contrade (districts), compete in a race.
In this Piazza, faces the stunning Palazzo Pubblico with its majestic Torre del Mangia, built in 1300's and is 102 mt. tall. From the top, you can enjoy one of the most beautiful views of the whole city.

Siena also provides an ideal setting for a romantic Protestant Wedding Ceremony, either legally binding or a blessing.
The city is also an ideal base to visit beautiful nearby towns like Pienza, Montalcino, Asciano, Montepulciano and the characteristic villages in Chianti, all easy to reach for a day tour or tasting in one of the ancient wineries.
